Toxicity Testing & Detoxification

Toxicity in the human body is like running a car on dirty or watered-down gasoline. First, the engine is hard to start and once it cranks, the car runs very rough, sputtering, making knocking and pinging noises, all right before the “check engine” light comes on.

In truth, the human body has more “check engine” lights than a fleet of semi-trucks, but for some reason, with our bodies, we don’t pull over at the next available mechanic's shop and demand to know what is wrong. Instead, most people ignore the warning signs that the body is suffering from an overabundance of stored toxins that deceive patients into believing they are just getting old, or sick.

What Are The Warning Signs of Body Toxicity?

Topping the list of toxicity symptoms is unexplained fatigue; sluggish waste elimination; irritated skin; allergies; low-grade infections; puffy eyes; dark circles and bags under the eyes; bloating; menstrual problems; and unexpected frustration and confusion.

There are four categories of toxins:

  • Airborne toxins are mixed into the air we breathe like pollution, vehicular emissions and tobacco smoke such as polyaromatic hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and formaldehyde.
  • Water toxins are in our drinking water. City sewer systems use heavy doses of chlorine to purify the water, but other contaminations found in “tap water” include bleach, ammonia, over-the-counter (OTC) medications and prescription drugs. Even some bottled water may contain plasticizers from the bottle itself.
  • Food toxins are perhaps the most invasive because we take most of them into our bodies on a daily basis without considering the side effects. Highly processed foods have food additives, food dyes (RED 40) and chemical preservatives like MSG. The toxin residues in alcohol, beer and wine build up in the body to become symptomatic.
  • Environmental chemicals are inherent to our industrial environment. Even though there are regulations to curb human exposure to some of them, we still consume or are exposed to many environmental toxins such as: pesticide residue on our freshly picked produce or from our yards; heavy metals like mercury that are prominent in fish; OTC omega 3; herbal supplements; and OTC, prescriptions and recreational drugs that remain in the body for an extended time.

Regenesis’ Holistic Approach to Detoxing

In most cases, patients will know by “listening to their own bodies,” whether they have symptoms consistent with a high level of toxins in their systems, but a short evaluation of existing medical conditions and a variety of tests will determine toxic levels.

Detoxification is the process of neutralizing and eliminating toxins from the body. Regenesis takes a holistic approach to detoxification, prescribed and supervised by an experienced physician like Dr. Lee, to rid the body of dangerous substances, restore vitality and improve overall health.

Detoxing at least once a year combined with modifications in lifestyle, changes in diet and increased levels of exercise will optimize energy level, help prevent disease and restore the body so the patient looks and feels younger while enjoying optimal health results with minimal side effects.
